Oregon State DT Legend from the Mid-2000s Era
Alvin Smith, a standout defensive tackle for the Oregon State Beavers after transferring from Tulane in 2002, earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention in 2006 with 55 career tackles, Defensive Player of the Week honors, and three varsity letters—showcasing relentless intensity and disruptive pass-rush ability that landed him undrafted free agent deals with the NFL's Chargers and Browns; though he passed away in 2019, his tenacious play style and quick first step make him a timeless example of Beavers' defensive grit, ideal for teams seeking high-motor linemen who thrive in big games.
