Jay Angotti brings depth and reliability to SMU’s secondary
Jay Angotti is a veteran defensive back whose value comes from steadiness, football IQ, and the ability to work his way onto the two-deep early in his career, which points to a player coaches trusted to learn quickly and compete. Publicly available information on his SMU-era production is limited, so the clearest differentiator is fit: he profiles as a dependable DB who can add structure, communication, and practice-day competitiveness to a secondary rather than headline-grabbing flash.
