Dylan Smith brings ace-level toughness and command to SJSU’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Dylan Smith emerged as San José State’s most reliable starter, going 3-4 with a team-best 4.08 ERA, 50 strikeouts in 68.1 innings, and a complete game against Grand Canyon; in conference play, he was even sharper with a 3.24 ERA and a 3-1 mark. The big takeaway: he’s a workhorse RHP who competes deep into games, limits damage, and has already earned First Team All-Mountain West honors—exactly the kind of sturdy, strike-throwing arm coaches trust when the pressure rises.
