Betsy Woodward gives SIUE a steady, high-IQ infield bat with winner’s pedigree
Woodward enters SIUE as a polished 5-foot-4 infielder who already showed she can contribute immediately, hitting .259 in 2026 while making 45 starts at second base and delivering clutch moments like her first career home run and a key string of singles in a comeback win. SIUE also highlighted her as a first-team all-conference high school player, a Golden Spikes Award winner, and a multi-sport standout with strong leadership and academics—traits that suggest toughness, coachability, and dependable competitive energy. She looks like a good fit for a team needing consistency, versatility, and a player who helps win the small moments.
