Amani Drummond brings veteran size, defensive grit, and academic polish to UIW
In the 2024-25 season, Amani Drummond gave UIW steady backcourt depth, appearing in 14 games and providing a low-usage, defense-first guard profile for the Cardinals.[1][5] The big sell here is reliability and maturity: he battled injury in 2023-24, returned to play more consistently, and was recognized as a 2026 Southland Conference All-Academic Team selection, which speaks to his discipline and professionalism.[1][9] He is not a volume scorer, but at 6-foot-1 with a veteran presence, he looks like the kind of glue guy who can fit a structured, team-oriented rotation.[13][5]
