Kansas freshman Nate Sims brings track-speed upside and two-way athleticism to KU
Nate Sims enters the 2026 season as a true freshman wideout for Kansas, and the appeal is obvious: elite straight-line speed, verified production, and real multi-sport athleticism. In his 2024 junior season at Ottawa, he posted 27 catches for 609 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns while also adding rushing, return, and defensive production; KU’s roster bio also notes he broke a long-standing school 100m record and the Kansas 4A 200m record. The caveat: he suffered a season-ending injury after two games in 2025, so his ceiling is exciting, but health and early development will decide how quickly he becomes a reliable Big 12 fit.
