Mercyhurst’s 6-foot-4 lefty Cody Smith brings veteran size and rotation flexibility
In the 2026 season, Cody Smith is a graduate student left-hander at Mercyhurst who gives the Lakers a big, sturdy mound presence at 6-foot-4 and has been used as a starter, including a two-inning outing on May 12, 2026 against Niagara. His value is less about flash and more about trust: a long-tenured college arm with experience, matchup utility, and the kind of size/coachable profile teams like when they need innings and stability. If you want a proven, developmental lefty who can handle multiple roles, he’s worth a look.
