a steady Sacramento State linebacker with old-school defensive grit
Johnnie Brannon is listed in Sacramento State’s all-time football roster and has been identified in archived coverage as a linebacker for the Hornets, but there is no current 2026 stat line available in the accessible sources. The profile that does emerge is a classic linebacker fit: trusted on defense, physical, and part of a unit that has been described as controlling games at the point of attack. For a team looking for toughness, field awareness, and a linebacker who sounds built for contact rather than highlight reels, Brannon’s name fits the mold.
