Nevada’s tackling throwback with proven production
Jason DeMars is a physical, old-school linebacker whose calling card has long been tackling volume and backfield disruption. In the 2005 season, he posted a career-high 13 tackles in a win at Utah State, including two tackles for loss, and that was the most by a Nevada player that year; coaches also noted he finished among the team’s tackle leaders in 2006. If you want a reliable, high-motor defender who shows up downhill and makes the middle unpleasant, he fits that mold nicely.
