No Football Star at Navy – Elite Basketball Guard for WVU Mountaineers
Amir Jenkins, a 6-2 freshman point guard for West Virginia, is not on Navy's football roster as a WR; in the 2025-26 season, he appeared in 32 games averaging 3.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 16.1 minutes off the bench. A reclassifying 4-star recruit and 2023-24 MaxPreps Player of the Year from high school (13.6 PPG, 4 RPG, 4 APG, 2.6 SPG), he's a tenacious playmaker with elite transition scoring (20-26 FG on fast breaks in spring AAU) and defensive intensity – a tone-setter with championship pedigree who's primed for breakout minutes in WVU's backcourt.
