Stetson’s Ethan Phillips brings starter experience, strike-throwing upside, and a big workload profile
Phillips enters Stetson after logging two college seasons with a heavy starter’s load, including 2025 at Stetson when he made 15 appearances, 13 starts, and struck out 30 batters; across his college sample, he has shown the ability to miss bats, but the profile also comes with command inconsistency and run-prevention volatility, including a 6.16 ERA in 2024 at Indiana and 5.57 ERA across his college career. He looks like a useful fit for a staff that values a durable right-hander with starter experience, academic/character stability, and upside if his strike-throwing sharpens.
