Bearcats freshman RHP Alex Gonzalez arrives with a power-armed résumé
Alex Gonzalez is a Cincinnati freshman right-hander in the 2026 season whose calling card is strike-throwing upside and bat-missing pedigree: in high school, he stacked up 94, 104, and 84 strikeouts across multiple seasons while posting ERAs as low as 0.93 and helping deliver a state title. That screams “competitive, tough, and built to attack,” which is exactly what you want in a bullpen or rotation project. The big question for a fit is development: he’s a fresh arm with clear talent and starter traits, but he’ll need college refinement to turn that high-octane promise into reliable innings.
