Maine’s Versatile Homegrown Weapon Is Back in the Mix
In the 2025 season, Nick Laughlin flashed as one of Maine’s most flexible offensive pieces, finishing with 31 carries for 164 rushing yards and a touchdown plus 11 catches for 202 yards and two receiving scores before a knee injury ended his year; Maine’s staff also praised his ability to run, catch out of the backfield, line up at receiver, and contribute on special teams. For a team, that’s a very usable chess piece: tough enough to handle touches, dynamic enough to stress defenses, and local-rooted with a reputation for being an all-around football player rather than just a stat line.
