seasoned Southern linebacker with a knack for backfield disruption
In the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Calvin Lunkins stood out as a physical, high-motor linebacker for Southern, piling up tackles while also flashing disruptive plays in the backfield, including tackles for loss, sacks, and QB hurries. He earned SWAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2019 and was praised for helping Southern’s defense force turnovers and control the run, which tells you he’s more than a stat-sheet filler—he’s an assignment-sound tone-setter with intensity and leadership traits. If you want an instinctive, physical LB who shows up in big games, he fits the bill.
