UMBC’s Historic Sharpshooter with a 261-Three Career Legacy
Brian Neller is a retired UMBC guard (2009–2013) and not a current player, so he has no active performance data for the 2025–26 or 2026 seasons. His defining differentiator is his elite long-range shooting: he finished with 261 career three-pointers, the second-highest total in UMBC history, and led the team in 3-pointers (91) during the 2012–13 season [1][3]. At 6'4", he combined size with a quick release, earning America East Player of the Week after dropping six treys in a win at Binghamton [8]. While his FG% was modest (34.5%) and he averaged 8.1 PPG, 1.5 REB, and 0.7 AST [6], his intensity and clutch shooting made him a fan favorite. Because he is no longer active, he is not a fit for any current team, but his legacy as UMBC’s most prolific shooter remains a key part of the program’s identity.
