Shanard Smith brings veteran-ball skills and steady value to Elon’s secondary
Shanard Smith projects as a dependable, experience-backed **defensive back** for Elon, with a reputation as a smart free safety and a team-first presence recognized by the program’s Good Works Team honor. Elon’s own coverage identifies him as a senior free safety, which points to leadership, communication, and field-awareness traits that matter beyond raw stats. Reliable public stat/detail data on his recent on-field production is limited, so the clearest takeaway is fit: he looks like a mature, assignment-sound DB who can stabilize a secondary and fit a coach who values reliability, preparation, and character.
