Isaiah Jernagin brings quick-twitch cover skills and reliable tackling to Cal Poly’s secondary
Jernagin showed real game action at Cal Poly in the 2020 spring season, playing in all three games with one start, posting 16 tackles, a career-high 10 stops against UC Davis, and a pass breakup in each game; at 5-9 and 165 pounds, his profile points to a smaller, speed-based defensive back who competes with toughness and active hands. His best differentiators are his ability to stay involved snap-to-snap, finish tackles in space, and make plays on the ball rather than just survive in coverage, which makes him a fit for a defense that values instinct, effort, and versatility.[1]
