WKU’s old-school seam threat with real receiving chops
In the 2018 season, Mik’Quan Deane was a legitimate weapon for Western Kentucky, finishing with 44 catches for 530 yards and 6 touchdowns, while earning Second-Team All-Conference USA honors and a John Mackey Award watch-list nod. His calling card was mismatch value: at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, he paired size with strong speed scores from pre-draft testing, giving WKU a tight end who could stress linebackers and safeties alike. The big question for a team is fit—he’s best as a receiving tight end who can create chunk plays, not just a blocker who lives in the mud.
