McNeese State Guard with Elite Intensity and Underrated Playmaking
Sam Baker, a 6'3" point guard for McNeese State, delivered a standout 2023 season averaging 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game over 32 contests, showcasing a rare blend of scoring versatility and defensive tenacity. Beyond stats, Baker’s differentiator is his relentless intensity—he plays every possession with championship-level fire, rarely fouling out (0.0 DNP) and maintaining a 100% free-throw rate. Born in St. Paul, MN, he’s a disciplined leader with a Master of Public Health background, reflecting maturity that elevates team culture. Though he went undrafted in 2023, his RS-Jr experience and 38.8% three-point shooting make him a high-fit guard for teams needing a self-starter who thrives in pressure. No major injury history; his personality trait of faith-driven focus (Acts 20:24) fuels consistent, reliable performance.
