Tyler Major brings old-school interior D-line juice for UMass
Tyler Major is a 6-foot-0, 285-pound redshirt freshman defensive lineman for UMass who was described by the program as an athletic inside lineman with nose-guard ability, unusual quickness for his size, and an explosive style that flashes “Vince Wilfork” vibes. That’s the appeal: he looks like a disruptive interior piece who can move, jump, and anchor, not just eat blocks. He also arrived with a strong prep résumé as an All-Connecticut first-team pick and honor roll student, which hints at coachability and discipline. If you want upside, toughness, and a space-clogging interior body with burst, he’s worth a look.
