high-upside lefty whose strikeout stuff still needs consistency
Foster is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed pitcher whose calling card is bat-missing ability; as a freshman at Mississippi State in 2025, he posted a 1.59 ERA with 17 strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings and held hitters to a .081 average, but his 2026 workload was more uneven, finishing with a 6.69 ERA, 37 strikeouts, 22 walks, and five hit batters in 36 1/3 innings. He still profiles as a power arm with SEC-level upside, but the walk rate and command volatility are the main questions for any team evaluating him as a fit.[1][3][14]
