veteran Toreros safety with playmaking instincts
Derek Pilkington’s profile is built on reliable, senior-level production and a nose for the football: in 2009, he was credited with 68 tackles and four tackles for loss, and he was repeatedly praised by USD as a defensive leader and captain-type presence. He stands out as a physical, downhill safety who can finish plays, force turnovers, and bring steady intensity rather than flash. If a team wants a tough, experienced defensive back who brings accountability and range, Pilkington looks like a fit.
