Jalen Mayden brings rare dual-threat versatility and proven toughness to SDSU
Jalen Mayden is a high-upside dual-threat quarterback whose best selling points are athleticism, arm strength, and the ability to create explosive plays with his legs—he famously hit a 70-yard rushing touchdown against Fresno State in 2023. He also has an unusual football background, having transitioned from safety to quarterback and handled the move without blinking, which speaks to his adaptability and competitiveness. If you need a QB who adds run-game stress and can flash big-play juice, he fits; if you want a polished, high-volume pocket distributor, his profile is more mixed.
