Freshman Guard with Elite Scoring Pedigree and High-Impact Potential for West Virginia
Lisa Costello, a 5-6 freshman guard for the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2025-26 season, brings a rare differentiator: she was Weir High School's all-time leading scorer with 1,289 points and a two-sport captain, proving unmatched intensity and leadership before college [1][7]. While her current stats show modest production (1.8 PPG, 28.6% FG in 12 games) due to typical freshman adjustment and limited minutes (1.8 MPG), her pedigree as a high-volume scorer and natural leader suggests she is a high-upside fit for any team needing a guard with championship mentality and resilience [3][7]. Her personality traits—captaincy, two-sport versatility, and hometown pride—add intangible value beyond stats, making her a compelling long-term investment despite early-season inconsistency [1][7].
