Southern’s Abigail Mitchell is a clutch, left-handed utility bat driving SWAC wins
Abigail Mitchell has been a timely offensive spark for Southern in the 2026 season, including a three-run home run against Alcorn State and an RBI double in another conference win, showing she can change a game with one swing[1][4]. Listed by Southern as a **sophomore** utility player who bats left and throws right, she brings roster flexibility along with middle-of-the-order pop[7][8]. The clearest reason to care: she’s producing in key SWAC moments, which suggests a player who fits teams needing matchup value, competitive edge, and run-producing upside[1][4][5].
