Lonnie Rice is Bryant’s tackling engine at linebacker
In the 2025 season, Lonnie Rice emerged as a tone-setting linebacker for Bryant, finishing with 92 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and All-CAA Honorable Mention honors; he also had a 2024 breakout with 56 tackles, 3 TFLs, a forced fumble and multiple impact games. [1][5][7] What makes him interesting is the combination of volume and disruption: he’s consistently around the ball, brings a physical downhill presence, and has shown he can flash in big moments—exactly the kind of reliable, active defender teams love in the middle of a defense.
