Myles Mayse brings pop, polish, and catching upside to Arkansas State
In the 2025 recruiting cycle, Myles Mayse arrived at Arkansas State as a highly regarded catcher, ranked as the No. 2 catcher in Virginia and No. 56 nationally by Perfect Game, and he showed real offensive juice by hitting .338 with 12 doubles and two home runs in Perfect Game events[1]. The appeal is the combo package: right-handed bat, switch-hitting profile listed by Arkansas State, catcher skill set, and a summer résumé that included Area Code Baseball with the MLB Breakthrough Series[1][2]. He looks like a fit for a program wanting a competitive, offensively capable backstop with upside rather than a pure glove-only receiver[1][2].
