a former Stony Brook forward with local roots and academic polish
John Henkel is a former Stony Brook forward from Rockville Centre, N.Y., and the clearest verified takeaway is his homegrown, team-first profile rather than a current stat-stuffing résumé. Stony Brook’s roster bio notes he earned team MVP and all-county honors in high school and was also an academic honor-roll selection, which points to a dependable, disciplined fit with good intangibles. There are no available college game statistics in the sources reviewed, so he looks more like a context-and-character prospect than a numbers-driven headline grabber.
