Jake Howlett is a versatile Monmouth bat with power flashes and a steady catcher’s profile
Howlett entered the 2026 season as a 6'1", 190-pound sophomore who had already shown he can help in multiple ways, splitting time between designated hitter and first base while also being listed as a catcher/first baseman. In 2026, he played 27 games, made 21 starts, hit .220 with 14 runs and 13 RBIs, and delivered multiple extra-base flashes, including home runs against Towson and Elon. His differentiators are his lineup flexibility, projectable power, and a track record of being trusted in meaningful spots; he also earned two CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll selections, which suggests a dependable, coachable profile.[2][3]
