feisty Albany DB with playmaking juice
Bill Hackett was a high-impact senior defender for Albany in the 2023 season, finishing with 66 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and a pick-six in the FCS second round against Richmond[2][3][14]. At 5'7" and 180 pounds, he played bigger than the frame suggests—quick-trigger, physical, and routinely around the ball—and he already showed he can flip a game with turnovers and momentum-shifting returns[2][14]. He looks like the kind of DB who brings swagger, urgency, and production, not just coverage snaps[2][6].
