Depth-piece DB with a memorable big-play flash for Drake
Brent Shelton is an older Drake defensive back whose profile is built more on opportunistic playmaking than volume stats: in the 2011 season, he returned a blocked punt 28 yards for a touchdown against Missouri S&T, a special-teams splash that shows good instincts and finish. He also earned Pioneer Football League Fall Academic Honor Roll recognition, which hints at a dependable, disciplined fit. Because the available public data is limited and outdated, he reads like a high-character, system-friendly DB rather than a heavily decorated statistical standout.
