Josh Willitts brings a live arm, strikeout ability, and bounce-back value to the rotation
Willitts profiles as a right-handed starter with real swing-and-miss upside: in 2026 at NJIT, he logged 62.0 innings with 49 strikeouts, though his 4.94 ERA and 27 walks show he is still refining consistency. His college track record also includes a strong early Richmond résumé, highlighted by a 2021 season with a 4.15 ERA, 23 strikeouts in 21.2 innings, and opponents hitting just .182 against him. The bigger differentiator is durability and comeback potential after injury interruptions, making him a fit for a team that values projection, arm talent, and patience.
