long, disruptive frontcourt piece with block-the-shot instincts
Savoy Fraine brings old-school size and rim protection to Samford, with a 6-foot-8 frame and 7-foot wingspan that were highlighted in Samford’s 2006-07 preview as his calling card. In the 2025-26 context, his stat line suggests a limited offensive role but real utility as a low-usage forward, so the appeal is defense, length, and matchup flexibility rather than scoring punch. If your team wants a physical, shot-altering forward who can affect possessions without needing the ball, Fraine is the kind of sneaky-useful fit that makes coaches grin.
