Big, instinctive safety who made Coastal Carolina’s back end sturdier
Clayton Isbell stood out at Coastal Carolina in the 2023 season as a physical, versatile safety with proven ball skills, finishing with 89 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, and 8 pass breakups in 13 games. He was named Third-Team All-Sun Belt and landed on the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Preseason List, which fits the “long-limbed down safety” reputation that evaluators liked. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, he brings size, range, and downhill toughness — the kind of defender who can clean up mistakes and set a tone.
