Justin Leathers brings proven low-post production and rebounding punch to UTRGV
Leathers is a high-volume, high-efficiency frontcourt scorer who has already shown he can carry an offense and clean the glass: in his junior-college career at Johnson County Community College, he averaged 20.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, reached double figures in 34 of 35 games, and posted 15 double-doubles. [2][3] He also owns a track record of finishing strong around the rim, shooting 62% in three NJCAA tournament games and earning all-region and all-tournament recognition, which suggests dependable toughness and production in big moments. [3] For a team, that profile reads like an experienced, physical forward who should add instant interior scoring and rebounding. [2][3]
