VMI Keydets DE with 2010-11 Defensive Player of the Year Legacy and Three-Year Captain Intensity
Ben Brandt, a defensive end for the VMI Keydets, is a historic standout whose 2010-11 season earned him Defensive Player of the Year honors after recording 34 tackles across 11 games with eight starts[3]. His differentiators include a three-year team captain role and four letters, reflecting unmatched leadership, intensity, and personality traits that transcend stats[3]. While no current 2025-26 stats are available for him, his legacy as a defensive anchor and his proven ability to lead under pressure make him a high-fit candidate for teams prioritizing grit and captaincy over raw numbers[3]. He’s a player you care about for his enduring impact and team-first mentality, not just his tackle count[3].
