Sammy Shields brings veteran guard savvy, but current SJSU impact is limited
Sammy Shields is a 5-foot-8 guard from Port Coquitlam, B.C., known more for playmaking feel and perimeter shooting than volume scoring; a 2020 scouting note described her as a strong passer, very hard to defend, and dangerous driving or pulling up from three. Her San Jose State career stats show limited college production, with 12 games and 1.3 points per game overall, so she profiles more as a depth guard than a headline engine. If a team needs IQ, shot-making touch, and a poised connector rather than a primary creator, she’s a fit.
