Kentucky's Intense Freshman LB with Elite Athleticism and a Controversial Start
Ridge Wilson is a standout freshman linebacker for the Kentucky Wildcats, distinguished by his elite 6'4", 256-lb frame and exceptional athleticism that earned him playing time as a true freshman, primarily on special teams. While his on-field intensity and versatility (24 games played, 2 starts) make him a high-upside fit for any defensive team seeking a physical presence, his profile is complicated by a serious off-field incident: in 2024, he was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault after hitting a girl, raising significant red flags about character and risk management. Beyond stats, Wilson's differentiator is his raw intensity and special teams grit, but teams must weigh his athletic potential against the serious personality and legal concerns that could jeopardize roster stability.
