Malik Garner brings veteran toughness and team-first reliability to UMBC
Malik Garner’s UMBC profile points to a forward who wins with maturity, effort, and coach trust: he was named a co-captain in the 2013-14 season, and head coach Aki Thomas praised his attention to detail, commitment, character, and classroom-to-court work ethic. In his UMBC career, he showed usable frontline versatility, including a 10-point, 8-rebound home debut in the 2012 season and an 18-point outing in 2013. He looks like a fit for teams needing a dependable, low-ego connector rather than a flashy stat-stuffer.
