Samuel Jackson is giving New Mexico a steady lefty boost out of the bullpen
Jackson, a junior left-handed pitcher for New Mexico in the 2026 season, profiles as a durable strike-thrower who already showed he can handle volume at Howard College and has translated that into useful innings for the Lobos. His 2025 numbers before joining UNM included a 7-4 record, 63.0 innings, 56 strikeouts, and a complete game, while he also delivered three scoreless innings in New Mexico’s win over Arizona in March 2026. The appeal is simple: a sturdy, competitive southpaw who can stabilize games and give a staff reliable length.
