Gio Lonero is a small-sample contact spark for North Alabama
In the 2026 season, Gio Lonero has been a redshirt freshman infielder for North Alabama who made two pinch-hitting appearances and recorded his first collegiate hit in a key ninth-inning rally against UT Martin. He looks like a high-energy depth piece with some clutch juice: a player whose value is more about competitiveness, situational bat-to-ball potential, and staying ready than raw volume stats. If your team wants a scrappy, developing infielder who can provide late-game lift and keep pressure on opponents, he’s a name worth monitoring.
