Promising LSU Freshman Big with Elite Shot-Blocking Flair
Derreyal Youngblood burst onto the LSU Lady Tigers scene in the 2012-13 season as a dominant freshman center, nearly posting a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds plus four blocks in an eight-straight win over Tennessee Tech, while her high school pedigree featured three district MVP awards at John Curtis. Her explosive bench energy, rim protection (part of LSU's 11-block game), and rebounding tenacity make her a differentiator for teams needing interior intensity—but limited recent data suggests she's no longer active at the college level, ideal for developmental programs seeking raw upside.
