Illinois P Lars Rau brings pro-style leg strength and transfer upside
Rau is a **6'2", 200-pound** punter/placement-kicking specialist whose value starts with a live leg: Illinois and 247Sports note a **pure, accurate ball** off the ground with **55+ yard range**, and Texas State’s 2024 roster listed him as the team-high punter who logged **24 punts for 870 yards** with a **58-yard long**. That combination makes him intriguing for a team needing a trusted field-position weapon and kickoff help, though his Illinois sample is still limited after a redshirt year in 2025.
