Christian Dray shows swing-and-miss flashes, but Richmond is still managing the growing pains
In 2026, Dray has shown strikeout ability for Richmond, but his early college numbers have been rough: a 10.24 ERA across 9.2 innings with 10 strikeouts. The upside is clear in the bat-missing stuff, and Richmond has already used him in relief, including a one-inning outing at Old Dominion where he struck out two. He was also a four-year letterman and earned first-team honors as a senior at McLean, which suggests competitive poise and a solid prep resume. He looks more like a development arm than an instant-impact piece right now.
