Ryan Severns is flashing gap power and clutch bat-to-ball for UCSB
In the 2026 season, UC Santa Barbara freshman infielder Ryan Severns has shown real pop for a middle infielder, hitting .225/.333/.300 with three doubles and four RBI across 21 games, while breaking out with a career-high three hits and three RBI in a win over Cal Poly. He looks like a line-drive hitter who can come through in big spots, and reports around his early UCSB stretch point to an energetic, confident player who’s still settling in defensively but already giving the Gauchos a useful right-handed bat and competitive edge.
