explosive, versatile linebacker with NFL-level range
In the 2022 season, Trenton Simpson was a tone-setting Clemson linebacker who blended rare speed, physicality, and coverage versatility; scouting reports praised his range, downhill burst, and ability to blitz, while also noting that his play recognition and tackling consistency could be uneven. He was widely viewed as one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2023 draft, with NFL evaluators calling him physical, aggressive, and instinctive. If you want a fast, scheme-flexible defender who can chase, rush, and cover, Simpson absolutely fits the mold.
