BYU’s veteran sharpshooting floor general
Mallary Gillespie-Carling is a high-IQ guard whose game was built on perimeter shooting, playmaking, and steady leadership for BYU. In the 2007-08 season, she was BYU’s leading scorer and assist leader, averaging 13.9 points and 70 assists while ranking sixth in the conference in made threes; she also shot 37% from deep and had a knack for big scoring nights, including a 24-point game. The best reason to care: she’s the kind of guard who can bend a defense, create for others, and stay composed when the pressure ramps up.
