Veteran Guard with Clutch Scoring and MAAC Leadership
Kayleigh Scannell, a senior guard for the Niagara Purple Eagles, stands out for her clutch scoring ability—evidenced by a 7-point consecutive burst in a valiant 2007 comeback and a put-back layup that secured a 39-38 lead in 2008. Though her 2008-09 stats show modest averages (1.2 PPG, 3.2 MPG), her differentiator is intensity: she played with relentless drive despite limited minutes, shot 41.2% from the field, and contributed to Niagara’s MAAC-best strength of schedule (86th nationally). Her personality is defined by resilience and team-first grit, making her a high-fit for teams needing a reliable, battle-tested guard who elevates in critical moments, even if not a statistical star.
