Physical, high-IQ linebacker with proven production at St. Thomas
A 6-foot-2, 222-pound linebacker from Owatonna, Achterkirch has been praised for playing bigger than his frame, using aggression, football IQ, and work ethic to compensate for not being the biggest or fastest athlete on the field. He logged meaningful snaps early in his St. Thomas career and was listed with 74 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 forced fumble in one 2024 season recap, showing impact in run support and turnover creation. He looks like a fit for a defense that values toughness, instincts, and reliable pursuit over pure measurables.
