Matt Bauman brings production, discipline, and elite academic drive at linebacker
Bauman was a steady BYU linebacker with proven production—205 career tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks—and he stood out as a two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American and four-time Academic All-MWC honoree. His profile suggests a high-IQ, assignment-sound defender with enough toughness and range to impact the box, not just rack up numbers. The mission-service background and top-tier academics point to maturity, coachability, and reliability—traits teams value when they want a smart, consistent linebacker who can handle responsibility.
